RF49D is designed for missions where a USV must remain small, fast to deploy, simple to support and economically realistic to operate in quantity.
Its roots are in the RedFin lightweight hull family, but RF49D is configured as an unmanned platform with integrated autonomy, remote control, mission power, communications and modular payload capability.
During the 2026 Dourios Ippos exercise, RF49D completed autonomous routes and an operational mission profile in open-sea conditions. In public testing the platform exceeded 40 knots while carrying approximately 200 kg of additional payload. The platform has also been tested with forward representative loads to evaluate handling, stability and behaviour under demanding centre-of-gravity conditions.
Depending on configuration, RF49D can provide up to four rectangular mission bays. Typical services can include 12 V DC, 24 V DC, optional 230 V AC, Ethernet, CAN bus, discrete and relay I/O and dedicated cooling where required. RF49D can be configured around different propulsion packages where programme volume justifies customer-specific engineering, so the final platform can reflect locally available engines, mechanics and spare parts.
RF49D is intentionally kept physically low. A compact sensor fit preserves stability and reduces visual and radar prominence. When the mission requires longer-range observation, TRYGONS DRONES increasingly favours distributed sensing and UAVs rather than simply making the mast taller.
RF49D is designed for distributed deployment: trailer, normal road transport, commercial or improvised ramps, ship-crane handling and standard-container logistics. In suitable conditions, trailer-to-water deployment has been achieved in less than one minute from the vehicle stopping in position.

Heritage
RF49D's hull descends from the civilian RedFin family, developed over years of real Aegean operation before the step to unmanned control.
RF49D and ER69D are the first operational examples of a common, configurable architecture — not its limits.
